Nine Nights in the Kruger National Park

South Africa

Next departure: 21 September - 1 October 2025 (FULLY BOOKED)

Overview

The Kruger National Park was established as a reserve in 1898 by Paul Kruger and boasts the Big Five. It contains some of the most dense lion and leopard populations in Africa. It is a wild life mecca that stirs the soul for all that enter.
You will be met for the start of your Game Ranger Wayne safari at the Skukuza Airport. Over the next 7 nights / 8 days, you will traverse the vast Kruger National Park staying in various camps around the park. We will use our knowledge of the Kruger National Park and experience to pick Rest Camps and routes to try get you the best sightings possible for the given season. You will be informed of the exact itinerary before your Kruger National Park Safari and accommodation can be made if there is a particular part of the Kruger National Park you would like to visit.

What To Expect

Going on safari involves a lot of driving, as that is the only way to explore the Kruger National Park. To get the most out of the Kruger National Park, we recommend spending as much time in the vehicle as possible during the day. This involves early wake-ups to be out of the Rest Camp before dawn breaks, eating brunch at unfenced picnic stops around the Kruger National Park, and arriving back to the Rest Camp as the sun is setting. After that, you will settle down for a "braai" and drinks before eating, sleeping, and repeating.
If you are expecting a bit more R&R out of your African safari,  you can spend your days next to the pool after shorter morning game drives and before the afternoon game drives.
Patience is a key atribute of game driving but the Kruger National Park always rewards patience!

Example Itinerary on Hosted Kruger

Night 1

You will be picked up at Skukuza Airport. Skukuza is the heart and soul of the Kruger National Park and also one of the best game viewing areas in the entire park thanks to the confluence of two important perennial rivers, the Sand and the Sabi Rivers. Your safari begins as soon as we leave the airport.
From Skukuza Airport, we will make our way down to Skukuza rest camp (a 10 minute drive) and stay the night.

Nights 2 - 4

The next morning, we will make our way North to Satara Rest Camp. The area around Satara is famous for big cats, especially Lion and Cheetah.
From Satara, we will explore East, including the famous s100 and H6 roads, West towards Orpen Gate, and North towards Olifants Rest Camp and maybe even as far as Letaba to visit the world famous Elephant Museum which contains the tusks of the reknowned "Kruger Tuskers".

Nights 5 - 8

Leaving Satara we will point the car South to Lower Sabi - one of the most amazing places on earth! Any sighting is possible at Lower Sabi. You can expect to see Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Wild Dog, Elephant, Hippo, Rhino, Buffalo etc. Lower Sabi is the last destination on the Hosted Kruger safari and we will spend four nights here just because of how prolific this area is.
